The Council's Large Items Kerbside Collection to dispose of your unwanted household items is to commence in the Bald Hills area on Monday, 9 July 2007. Acceptable items (please refer to the list below) for collection need to be placed on the kerbside by Sunday 8 July 2007. Bracken Ridge residents will have their items collected from Monday 16 July and need to have their acceptable items (please refer to the list below) placed on the kerbside by Sunday 15 July 2007.
Residents of Fitzgibbon and Taigum area will need to place their items for collection on the kerbside by Sunday 5 August for collection to commence from Monday 6 August.
Residents of Bridgeman Downs and Carseldine area will need to place their items for collection on the kerbside by Sunday 5 August for collection to commence from Monday 13 August.
Residents of McDowall area will need to place their items for collection on the kerbside by Sunday 16 September for collection to commence on Monday 17 September.
Important points to note is size limits of not larger than 2 cubic metres.
Keep the piles tidy on the kerb, so the footpath is kept clear. Remove doors from fridges and cupboards.
DO NOT leave sharp or dnagerous objects - perhaps place some cardboard over these type of edges.
Your trash may be someone else's treasure - please check with your local charity first.
Collection of metal items - metal recycling items will be collected by a separate truck. The truck that collects metal may arrive at your property at a different time or day from the general items truck.
Acceptable Items are:
furniture
white goods eg friges, stoves
carpet and lino
bath and laundry tubs
small household applicances eg televisions
wood products
Unacceptable items (which will NOT be collected) are:
liquids and hazardous waste eg paint and chemicals
gas bottles
commercial builders' waste
bricks and concrete
dirt and stones
car parts and tyres
vegetation eg trees, grass, potted plants
household waste that normally goes into your refuse or recycle bin
