Councillor Amanda Cooper advised several residents have contacted the Bracken Ridge Ward Office regarding damaged garbage bins.
Councillor Cooper said "Bins with broken hinges, split bodies or damaged wheels should be reported to the Council so repairs or a replacement bin can be provided at no charge. Residents just need to advise if it is their normal grey refuge bin or the recycle bin."
"It is a requirement that bins be left at their usual place for garbage collection, either on the footpath or kerbside. This service is usually performed within 5 working days."
"A common question is 'Can residents still use their bins?' The answer is 'Yes they can keep using the bin as usual'." commented Councillor Cooper.
Residents can contact the Bracken Ridge Ward Office by phone: 3667 6000/fax: 3667 6005 or email: brackenridge.ward@ecn.net.au or contact the Council's Call Centre directly by phoning: 3403 8888 to log a job request.
