Councillor Amanda Cooper has received advice from the Council's Vegetation and Pest Service that Energex, State Government are currently undertaking street tree removals in the Bracken Ridge Ward.
Energex is committed to delivering safe and reliable electricity and maintains the powerlines according to the Electrical Safety Act (2002).
Trees in powerlines pose potential safety risks and also affect the reliability of electricity to homes. Over the coming weeks, Energex service providers will be in the Bracken Ridge Ward to prune trees and identify trees that require removal.
Residents have been notified by street tree service notice informing them of removal and replacement with more suitable species. An Energex tree contractor will undertake the work within the next two weeks. Street tree replacement planting is to be scheduled after the removal; Replacement trees will be planted within accordance with current Council planting guidelines.

- 334 Bracken Ridge Road - removal of 1 x Lophostemon confertus
- 336 Bracken Ridge Road - removal of 1 x Lophostemon confectus & planting of 1 replacement tree being a Harpulia pendula
- 338 Bracken Ridge Road - removal of 1 x Angophra sp & 1 x Lophostemon confertus
- 374 Bracken Ridge Road - removal of 1 x Lophostemon confertus
- Opposite 26 Hornick St - removal of 2 x Grevillea robusta
- 36 Bellicent Road - removal of 1 x Spathodea campanulata
- 38 Bellicent Road - removal of 1 x Spathodea campanulata
- 100 Bellicent Road - removal of 1 x Palm tree
- 54 Mongabarra Street - removal of 1 x Casesalpinia ferrea
- 10 Larnook Street - removal of 7 x Phoenix roebelinii palms
- 32 Bracken Street - removal of 1 x Eucalyptus sp
