Unleash your dogs for a day of fun at K-9 Capers

02 October, 2007

Councillor of Bracken Ridge Ward, Amanda Cooper, is encouraging residents to bring their dogs for a day of exercise and fun at the K9 Capers event at Bangalow Street Park on October 14.

K-9 Capers will feature eight simple and enjoyable activities with great prizes to be won, as well as pet ownership information and tips.

“We love our pets and sometimes it’s nice to treat them and ourselves to a day of exercise and enjoyment,” Cr Cooper said.

Dog owners will also have the opportunity to get lessons from international dog trainer, Val Bonney, on pet obedience and behaviour.

“Getting lessons from an internationally recognised trainer on effective ways to control your pets is an invaluable and worthwhile experience.

“It can also help to explain why your dog digs up that favourite garden bed,” Cr Cooper said.

Cr Cooper advises dogs do not have to be trained in obedience or agility to participate in the events, but encourages responsible pet ownership.

K-9 Capers will be held on Sunday the 14th of October, Bangalow Street Park from 1:30pm to 4pm, with the closest access from Karri Place, Bridgeman Downs.
