Residents come together over Lagoons

Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge residents will join their Councillor, Amanda Cooper, to help preserve the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands by planting trees on the banks of Bald Hills Creek Lagoon.

On Saturday the 13th of October, between 8am to 11am, the Bald Hills Creek Lagoon in Harold Keilly Park will see residents and the local Councillor working for their local environment.

Councillor for Bracken Ridge Ward, Amanda Cooper, encourages all residents to come along to help beautify the Bald Hills Creek Lagoon.

“The Lagoons have always been a special part of the area.”

“We need to be responsible for the environment now so in 20 years time we still have something special for our children to enjoy.“

“We also can set an example for our children of what residents can do if they work together to help the environment,” Cr Cooper said.

Cr Cooper invites everyone to attend, as the day will be a great opportunity to get to know fellow neighbours.

“Residents can also have the opportunity to meet me, as some may not have had the opportunity yet,” Cr Cooper said.

The Bald Hills West Bracken Ridge Scouts will provide a free sausage sizzle.

Drinks will be for sale afterwards.

Cr Cooper also advises everyone to bring a hat, closed in shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent.

“Come rain or sunshine, we will be planting trees, so it might be a good idea to come prepared,” Cr Cooper said.

If you would like more information, or to RSVP, please contact 3667 6000, email brackenridge.ward@ecn.net.au or visit the Ward Office - residents are asked to RSVP by 10th of October for catering purposes.
