The Brisbane City Council is picking up old computers and electronics in an electronic waste collection for Saturday and Sunday the 27th and 28th of October.
Computers are found to be 98% recyclable along with many other normal household electronics, such as televisions, printers, HIFI equipment and many others.
Councillor Amanda Cooper (Bracken Ridge Ward) encourages everyone to be environmentally friendly and get rid of that old PC or stereo.
“Most of us have old electronics that are no longer wanted or used, so this is the perfect opportunity to have them recycled at one of the collection sites.
“It is comforting to know that your old parts will be recycled and not go to a landfill.
Apple is sponsoring the weekend clean up and Sims E-Recycling will provide environmentally friendly recycling of all equipment received during the collection days.
The closest drop off point for Bracken Ridge Ward residents is at 72 Crockford Street, Northgate and is available for drop off on the 27th and 28th of October between 9am to 4pm.
For further information, please visit the Ward Office, or call on 3667 6000.
